COME AS YOU ARE (April 6)

This week was another good one. we do service for this guy named joe. he is a famous sculpture and painter and we knocked on his door and he asked if we would want to come by every few days and help him with service making his projects. we said yes and are helping him now. its fun we are learning how to build and make things, hes a nice guy to. we have a list of almost 30 people here this next transfer of people we want to help or change or help them get baptized. we want to have a good transfer and are hoping to be the best we can for god.

we had the last district meeting of transfers as 80 theme haha good pictures there. you learn alot in district meetings.

the work is going good here though. we had a few people come watch conference talks and it was funny..jeff ritter is a hard core baptist ha he wants to get baptized. in only 2 transfers he has read the whole BOM and been to church. he got a youth job as a pastor in another church so that was our hold up right now..but in conference they said the church has never been stronger..jeff gave a big air fist bump and said amen haha hes not a member yet but we were all laughing.
this week has just been another in the books. hard work, lots of laughts. spring cleaning( gross) and trying to become better. I loved conference. 2 fav talks were actually by seventies. the talk about learning to dance and hearing the music. that was changed me alot personally. and the next was " it was I. but it is not I". I loved it. something I always tell people scared to come to church or out to an activity is Christ said " come as you are." I always loved that but after that talk I thought why christ lets us come as we are no matter what we are or who. we could be stragglers or have turned away or just good people. no matter who you are..."come as you are" I think it is because he doesn't care who we are when we come. he cares about who we are when we leave. he will always be there and ready to take the people in. its when the people leave out. is when we are put to the test of can I be a follower of Christ. I enjoyed it alot and hope to spiritually come as I am ever day and leave a little better every day. I love you guys and hope youre week was good. keep praying for me and know I miss everyone! ian hullinger!

CHURCH IS TRUE

this week was a good one. we had exchanges with the assistants and the zone leaders and had a lot of fun. we have a last of people who were blessed as babies but never got baptized when they turned 8. so that's a gold mine as a missionary. we just keep the ball rolling here and trying to keep the work progressing. president told roper that we will stay one more transfer together. so six more weeks coming up! I have mixed feelings about it but I know I am where i need to be. just get antsy haha I have only been in two areas serving. kokomo and
martiansville. cool thing happen. we were tracking up in the ritch parts of M vill and a lady opened the door. she
said she was leaving but we told her if she has anything going on and needs help let us know. so we walked down the street and about 10 mins later she came out and asked us to come in. her husband was alittle man who looked like the guy off UP haha he was a famous carpenter and sculpture. he asked me and roper if we would want to come by and he would teach us how to make the parts and help him make his projects. he said we could teach him while we do this and im pumped! they are super nice. we helped a lady move out a full house of stuff for a garage sale.
I found super smash brothers and got hyped from old times haha we also do service at a place called red barn and they give us free cloths and food sometimes witch is nice. jeff is back on a date trying to get baptized. we are working hard and have a few other people on dates. I am pumped for conference this week and am going with some good questions. I love everyone and hope you are doing good. church is true!

SNOWBALL FIGHT

we had a funeral. they are neat things. I had never been to one before. hey we crashed to! ha its super snowy here and they are fixing our car. hopefully tonight we will get it back from the shop. I wish we could have scooters on the mish ha this week was good! I got elder roper! hes super cool! ( ill send some pics later but i forgot my camera at the zone leaders house ) we went out to IU campus for Saturday just for a few hours before stake conference. it was a Saturday so kinda dead but we saw these two girls walking. we crossed the street and i asked them if we could give them a card. right then I saw one of them kinda trip over her self. yikes haha they had been drinking alot.. white girl wasted. so we knew nothing great would happen so we gave them a card and told them to check it out and pray and one girl went up to roper and tried to KISS HIM! it was super scary ha he brushed her hands off his shoulders like super fast and literally we both turned and ran to the institute ha full sprint. In the moment it was super sketchy and scary but now we look back and just laugh ha everything went ok and we kinda showed god how fast we would run from sketchy things ha but sunday we got snowed in down in bloomington at the zone leaders apartment. we were just inside thinking of how we could go be good a missionary and we saw someones car had slid off the road and they needed help pushing. we went and elder russell threw a snow ball at elder waggstaff and it was game on...4 hours later we had teams of 7 on 7 from elders to ysa to kids who just lived at the aparment having the best snowball fight i've ever had in my life ha honestly I will never forget it. so fun! but yeah life is good here. new transfer so new work and going hard. we had a bap saturday so that was amazing! hope you're week goes good! sending some love from Indy! ian!

GOD'S LOVE

transfers are here and russell is out so sad day. but I'm staying here. we will see this week who I get as a comp. we have a baptism this Saturday because our last one got canceled because of the weather. so that's fun! it snowed a bunch up here and we had a snow ball fight with the baby lacrosse sticks and it was super fun! pendelton and alot of my good friends are going home today and that's sad but I got to say goodbye! I'm happy for them. So this week I got to bare my testimony on gods love. I think deep down we can all feel gods love but sometimes it gets a little cloudy. we just need to know that everything that happens is out of love. failing, hardship, trifle, pain, happiness, joy, succeeding, and everything else is all from god and out of his love for us. but I remembered when I was captain of the lacrosse team I made a goal to love every kid on the team. I think I did ok. but i remember looking at kids and thinking..I love you, but i don't like you. it was an eye opener to me that god not only loves us but he likes us and is our close friend. he is perfect. but more important than anything is that God understands us. he knows why we are who we are. sometimes I struggle with things. but I know God knows in my heart I'm trying my best. life is all about earning stripes and learning heavenly tendencies and laws. we all know rules and things like that are hard sometimes but they help us be better and more importantly feel God's love. but other than that i'm just going through the book of Mormon. I'm in Alma now and close to done. I'm happy things are going good and keep living the dream!
love ian

BUILDING TOWERS

so this week was good. transfers are almost over and im pretty sure my comp is out. I hope not. hes super fun! this week we went to a park and did some trash clean up and he tried to teach me parkour haha. the other night we had family home evening with a family and taught them about Moroni and building towers to protect him from evil. we had them explain how it helps us protect ourselves from bad. then we role played with them the war chapters in Alma chapter 50 ha. it was great! it snowed alot this week here. it's 12 degrees now. we have a baptism this weekend of a girl named

Paige. she's 15 and her parents don't like her going to church but she knows it's true. we have a few more people we are trying to get baptized but its taking some time. I love them alot. there is this member named sister banks who has a farm up here in M vile and she has us come cut wood every Saturday. she always is buying us food and she got us all big heart chocolates for V day. she was false imprisoned a long time ago so she gets lots of money from that and she spends it all on missionary's ha. she is always buying us shoes or sweaters or just little things. shes a super nice lady. I'm growing a ton still here. just trying everyday to be better and more like Christ. president for a district meeting told everyone in the district things he knows and admires about us personally. he just wrote it to the district leader in a letter but he said that elder hullinger is one of the most positive missionaries. he is always smiling and everyone is always happy when hes around them. that was cool to see president write that. I felt some love haha but it's going by so fast. im already over 1/4 and i still feel like a little baby. well I hope everyones week was great! sending some love from Indy! hullinger

MARCH MADNESS

So this week was a good one! Nothing too crazy. We found some good people and are hoping to get them going in the lessons. We have a March Madness zone conference since pres is a basketball coach so I'm pumped for that. I've learned a lot this week.

My comp is Elder Russell and he's amazing and helps me stay on track. He's dignified and likes to work so it helps. I miss campus alot but I'm hoping I'll make it back there soon. We get to go on exchanges with the zls to IU and that's alot of fun. We have three people that hopefully are getting baptized before the end of transfers which will be so amazing! Nothing too amazing this week other than that. Hope all is well there!

Love Ian
